It’s not often I get to leave music in the podcast version of an episode. Songs on the broadcast version of the show are chosen strategically – a name that ties into the guest in a clever way, a feeling they convey the goes with a Monday morning – and they are replaced in the podcast because of licensing restrictions.
In the case of this episode, Caiti Patton was generous enough to allow her songs (five of them!) to remain in there. This is amazing because it directly ties into a lot of what she’s talking about, from her writing approach to where her inspiration comes from. They are also great songs, so that keeps the episode feeling lively.
